Kool Kettlebells

My training philosophy: Simple. Brief. Frequent.

Praticed some rickety pistols and bent presses yesterday after my morning KB class.
I did additonal Z and warm-ups for the knee ligaments so I wouldn't be hurting today. Using a mirror helps keep me from falling down. Went very lightly, 12 and 16kg for three reps each leg. Light bent presses 16kg x 3 x 2 sets.
My blood blisters have turned a purplish black today. In a couple days I expect them to start breaking thru the skin.
I figured out why I dot blisters. At work on Friday, I had rubber gloves on for a couple hours cleaning the press. That makes your hands sweat inside the gloves. Which turns ones hands soft and moist. Prime candidates for blistering.
I'll have to suck it up and use the cut off sweat socks around the palms and athletic tape.
Oh well, live and learn.

After training with kettlebells for over 4 and a half years, I've finally gotten my first and second blisters! Dammit!!!
I was following the V0IImax protocol with a twist. Every third set I did what I call alternating snatches. There kinda like a figure eight to a hold except the hold is the top of the snatch. I was doing two sets of snatches with the 24k and the third with the 16k- alternating snatch. After 16 minutes of this I developed a nice blood blister on my left hand. So after 120 snatches and 66 or so alternating snatches I called it quits.
Then I walked around the yard one time for an active recovery.
On to chins. 16k x3 x 3. There comes the other blister on my right FU palm! At least I'm even now.
Turkish Get Downs to an Arm Bar- 24k x 2 alternating sides each reps for a total of 4 reps to pump the shoulders.
Z drills x 5 minutes.
Onto the showers and medicine cabinet.

Today's Practice: 12, 16, 24kg bells. Flow drills- 15 seconds to 30 seconds for each exercise.
Round-a-bouts, figure eights, figure eight to a hold, alternating snatches (kinda like the figure eight to a hold), renegade lunges, renegade lunge figure eight to a hold, rengade lunge while alternating snatches. Rested 30 seconds after each weight. Each series took 2:45 to 3 minutes.
Total time: 10 minutes.
Chins- 12kg x 4 reps, 16kg x 4 reps.
Did Z drills before and after the workout for 5 minutes each time.

Kettlebell Practice: alternating kb deadlifts to warm up- 24 to 48kg a few reps of each weight.
24kg- swing, high pull, snatch, alternating sides as another warm up.
Snatch 24kg bell- Vo2max protocol- 6 reps x 14 sets = 84 reps. Enough for today!
Chins: no weight x 5, 5, 4, 4 reps. Zzzz drills to ward off post exercise stress. Finito.

This morning after teaching a kettlebell class, here's what I did when I got home.
Pumped some rubber. Bands that is. I got these new jump stretch bands, so I used them for shoulder training. Stand on one end and press, side press, twisting press, press to the front etc... Easier on the ligaments than the kettlebells. Plus as an added bonus the resistance is more controllable on the downstroke. I did that for about 7 minutes. Then onto V02max hand to hand swings with the 32kg bell. 8 reps per 15 seconds. 13 sets in 6:15 for 104 reps total. Chins to stretch everything out again. 16kg bell x 2 reps x 4 sets nice and easy. Full body z-health session. Alot of work on the right shoulder. I'll probably stick with the bands for pressing type movements for awhile. More athletic and way more fun than just doing military presses ad nausem.

See-Saw press/outside the legs swing supersets: 8, 12, 16, 24, 16, 24 x 10/10 reps.
Snatch- 16, 24, 32 x 2 x 5/5 reps.
Chins: 0 x 2, 24k x 2.
Short 10 yard sprints x 10.
Z-Drills to finish off.

Started my training day with R & I phase combinations. Moved into one leg deadlifts. Then onto pistols standing on a kitchen chair. See- saw presses and chins. All this was done with one or two 16kg kb's. Beast training. Swings, cleans and more swings. Chins with 16kg again to stretch out the spine. I was also doing R, I ans S phase eye training on my breaks from the bells. Standing post x 5 minutes. Total training time: 45 minutes. Done, until next time...

Yesterday I did some TGU's with one and two kettlebells. I went up to the 32k bell. Enough to get back in the groove. Between sets I did the R & I phase eye movement drills. Today my eyes got tired by 13:00 hours.
