Kool Kettlebells

My training philosophy: Simple. Brief. Frequent.

Last night after a 42.5 hour work week, I took four kettlebells out into the backyard. 16, 24, 32 and 40k. Set the Gym Boss for five minutes on, one minute off. Did various H2H drills and various forms of push up drills thoughout three five minute rounds. Took my pulse after the second round and it was 163 BPM. That's 92% of my max heart rate! I think I was doing two hand stomp flips with the 70 pound bell at the time. These were flips with a stomp. In other words I was using the powerful calf muscles to get a little air under my feet to launch the kettlebell higher than my head when I reached up and grabbed it for the next rep. I was even shocked at how high it was going and had to back it off a wee bit for fear of losing the bell to a one and a half flip, with no hope of catching.
Jeff Martone trained me well and I thank him for his inspiration as a cool dude and as a kettlebell juggler. For me, nothing compares to the thrill, conditioning and creativity of juggling kettlebells. I'll have to make a video of the High Beast Flip.

"There are no victims, only volunteers." Author unknown. No training today. Although I've thought up a few crazy bent press ideas. More to come...
